I am a British socialist. A lifetime socialist. When I worked in the Middle East in the 90s as an aid worker what I saw with my own eyes made me think I had been deceived by the media and politicians. That lead me to research censorship in my retirement receiving a masters degree and a PhD. I have since 2020 been investigating fact checking. It is a billion dollar censorship industry. The republicans, democrats, socialists and conservatives all being to a uni party in my opinion. I have done literally dozens of media literacy and fact checking courses as part of my research. They all lead people to think in the way that the paymasters of fact checking think - those with immense wealth and power. Policy in my mind is decided at a higher level than governments. Governments just do as they are bid. The answer is that we all need to join together and find out how and why the other thinks as they do, but to do it with respect and not in criticism. We are in a hole and we all need to pull together to get out of the place where we are now.
Very well put! The angst of most political discourse is in the differences between parties, or simply people.
We need to “talk” to discover, mediate, and compose solutions to the dissonance between the various “tribes” of people in America.
There’s been SOME discussions, but never at a level big enough to actually influence the outcomes. But social media like Substack, BlueSky, and several others that haven’t been taken over by one side or another, have been helping to bridge the gap, and let SOME people discuss what can be done on ALL sides.
If we, as Americans, can get beyond our “personal pride”, and actually discuss what’s going on, we may make it…
Take a long walk off a short pier, genius. Mob rule is what you have when you get a trumpy rally audience together. Or a bunch of fake patriots at the Capitol.
Kill Nazis because they are the enemy
She is excellent.

I don’t even care what these people have to say- say it to your Republican MAGA pals.
That was brilliant! Everyone needs a fact-checking course.
We don’t have a democracy, genius.
We have a Republic.
Democracy = mob-ocracy. No one needs mob rule.
Republic, different animal.

You’re beautiful
Thank you
