BREAKING: Mike Johnson faces DISASTER in the House as four major Republican priorities get derailed by vicious infighting and time runs out before they go on vacation…AGAIN!
Republicans are well and truly in disarray once again as multiple crises collapse around Mike Johnson’s head, and their next recess looms.
Puck News’s Jake Sherman reports that “House Republicans recessed the Rules Committee on Monday night without a path forward on extending FISA Section 702 authority,” which is the law that allows the government to spy on foreign nationals in the United States, as libertarian Republicans are currently derailing the renewal of this bill over (very real) concerns that the government is using it to illegally spy on Americans and violate their constitutional rights.
Then there’s the Senate-passed bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security, which needs to pass by April 30th before money runs out again. Johnson has been holding this bill out in order to tweak the zeroing out of accounts for ICE and Border Patrol, which some Republicans are leery of voting for. If he does, then the Senate will need Democratic help to pass it quickly, which they are not likely to get.
Thirdly, Trump is publicly pushing for a second reconciliation bill to get more money for ICE and the Border Patrol goon squads, but it’s not clear if this has the support it needs among House Republicans, as many are upset that it neglects other GOP priorities.
And on top of all that, Republicans are now in heavy infighting over the Farm Bill, which is supposed to be the EASY thing to pass, over rural Republicans trying to make it easier for corporate farms to poison us with pesticides, which is understandably infuriating other Republicans who do not want us to be poisoned with pesticides.

I hope every day all day is a miserable day for Mike Johnson. The little coward deserves it. They only work a few days at a time before he sends them home again, probably to cover up what a failure he is.
I believe there is a reckoning coming for the Republicans.
Before people blamed Biden for everything.
Now though with gas prices at $5.00 a gallon, food prices escalating and every day we hear about a Republican that is involved in some scandals (where are the full Epstein files??)
There isn't the enthusiasm for the party as people are waking up realizing that Republicans only cater to the rich, not the working class or those most in need.
