I’m a broken little old lady

But I’ve been a white face in a dark crowd when I was healthy enough to march.

One of my best friends is about 30 years old and calls me her “white mama“

And I don’t think that things have progressed as they should have.

And I’m very angry that there were enough people in this country to put a bigot back in the White House.

I am very upset that so many people who could’ve voted that would have voted in a left leaning way simply didn’t get up and go vote.

If I can make it happen, anyone can!

Happy Juneteenth!

The message is sweet to hear on this sunny holiday but it is slightly off the mark and the distance to the mark is what is holding us back. We have come a long way but those who oppose the true equality of humans are opposed to the idea that we have some distance to still cover. Instead of "we have come a long way, but don't you think we still have some way to go, the message should be: we are there. We reached the goal but a few imperfect, uninformed, ignorant types still illegally and immorally oppose the laws we have enacted to make global equality an everyday attribute of society. The message should be we are there. And the message should follow on: And we law abiding and moral citizens need to fight those who wish to exploit groups within our country (and the world) for their own gain and to fight those immoral and ignorant imbeciles who hang onto outdated bigotry. I propose this woman is wrong in her closing statement and needs to focus where the attention needs to be: not on where we need to get to but what we need to oppose.

This means that the Texas slaves worked an additional two years for their owners. So at some point the owners KNEW about the Emancipation Proclamation (they didn't have TV, but they did have the telegraph). And they just kept it to themselves. They stole two years from the lives of the slaves. It's Texas. They are still a bunch of thieves!
